Tegenungan Waterfall

Early this month on April 7th, 2013, along with 3 friends I visited Tegenungan Waterfall which located in Gianyar, Bali. It took only about 15 minutes driving from Ubud to reach the location. Actually this visit was the second one as I did also in February 2013 with other friends. Unfortunately at that time my equipment did not support me to get the good shots.

This time I tried to do better.
We arrived at the location around 8 am, and we then realized that it was quite late doing photo shots at that hours. What we found there, it was little bit hazy around the waterfall, so the target was not clear enough in view, beside that, the water itself was so turbid. However, on top of all those unsupported conditions, we still tried to take some pictures from various angles and techniques.

In photography, capturing the smooth efect of waterfall, needs long exposure in camera setting with low ISO and deep DOF (aperture setting of f8 or f9). We must use a tripod to hold the camera and if possible, it is recommended to use remote shutter to reduce hand shake effect. And last thing to support max shots is ND Filter. If you dont have this yet, so you need to capture the waterfall in early morning. From my experience taking the waterfall shots without using this kind of filter, I did not get pictures as good as I expected.

After all of the preparations above, here are the results.
