Playing with the light

Photography comes from photo which means "light". In photography's techniques we can play with the light where professional photographers call it "light painting". See: http://belajarfotografi.com/tips-foto-light-painting-graffiti-melukis-cahaya/ .
Light painting means taking pictures in the dark, while at the same time use moving light along to the object. Light painting needs long exposure to capture the light. The tools that you need are; an interesting object as your pattern, a small light source such as tiny torch, flash light, candle or anything that can bring out the light. You can also use colorful plastic to enwrap your light source and it will then produce colorful light. The most important thing is a tripod. You may need someone's help to press and hold on the shutter. Ok then, here we go.... Firstly, aim your object, set your focal length. change your lens setting from AF to MF. Set your camera into "Bulb" mode then turn off the lamp. Now you need your friend to press the shutter button and hold it on.... Your part... While your friend is holding on the shutter, play with your light... Create something interesting, words, graffiti, or move your light around the object... Once you've done then ask your friend to release the shutter button....and..... See your result.

Here are some of my light paintings..... Well, not exactly light paintings... But I played with the light.... Enjoy the pictures :).
